Video sets and other endeavors

Matthias Schnabel graduated in communication design at Mannheim in 1999 and in 2001 he obtained the title of European Master of Arts in Media at the University of Portsmouth in collaboration with media artist George Lagrady.

He worked in Stuttgart and in Milan, in interactive design and became interested in video animation, developing interactive projects for companies such as Daimler Chrysler Bank and Bosch.

In 2004, he started collaborating with Studio Festi as a video

 

designer, creating video sets for over thirty events. Among the more important are the Munich Revue, the Opening Ceremony of the 13th FINA World Championships, 'Deluge' Kenya, 'Scarlet Sails' in Saint Petersburg; and 'Renewal of Time' in Beijing.

He created video sets for theatrical performances, modern dance, video installations, working in close collaboration with stage directors, scenic designers and choreographers.

Beginning in 2007, he worked on the elaborate Christmas decorations at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
