Bologna, Smart NightCreated with the collaboration of David La Chapelle (Rize), this show, which was dedicated to the complexities of communication, presented innovative expressions and the ‘avant garde’ of emerging urban cultures to the Italian public. It successfully brought together representative groups from all over the world, including the United States, Europe and Africa.

Bologna, Il tempo si rinuova - Time Renews ItselfIn the striking setting of Piazza Maggiore, surrounded by Medieval and Renaissance architecture, Studio Festi built a stage inspired by the Teatro Farnese (Parma) style. The theme was the renewal of life and of time, inspired by the show desired by Lorenzo the Magnificent in Florence in the late 15th Century, a show in the preparation for which a very young Michelangelo participated.

Damascus, Le Rideau se Le've (the Curtain Rises)Opening ceremony of: Damascus, Arab capital of Culture 2008The show afforded citizens of Syria the first opportunity to witness a grand 'piazza' celebration. To the collective emotion that the show aroused, the grand finale was added: a fireworks concert witnessed by the 1.6 million inhabitants of Damascus, launched from the hills of Quaisun.

Istanbul, Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü 1907 - 2007Centennial Celebration of Turkey's Premier Sports ClubThis was a year-long celebration to salute the 100th anniversary of the most popular and celebrated sports club of Istanbul, which is a major supporter of the democratization of Turkey under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. - The light of success: light architecture was performed in the city

Laikipia (Kenya), DelugeThis performance was set on three stages built specifically for it. Behind the stages was a breathtaking backdrop of Great Rift Valley. The show was inspired by an original text by Monica Maimone, and based on the interpretations of the Universal Flood by four traditions: Sumeric, Hebrew, Massai and Indo-American.

Macao, The Beauty of Harmony 2008To launch the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games, with the occasion of the arrival of the Olympic flame on Chinese territory, the government of Macao requested a grand spectacle of large proportions to take place entirely on Nam Van Lake, to promote the international image of the alternative city and that of a city tied to gambling.

Munich, Munich RevueThis event was a fantastical procession conveying Munich’s history for the occasion of the city’s 850th anniversary. The spectacle, repeated three times in one evening, was the main event of Munich's three-month celebration and was witnessed by over 250,000 people. The event was broadcast live throughout Germany by Bayerischer Rundfunk.

New York City, Columbus Day ParadeTo celebrate the anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus, Studio Festi successfully executed an Italian parade down Fifth Avenue that dramatically emphasized the historic, artistic and cultural aspects of Italy's regions.

Beijing, Per una festa - For a Holiday CelebrationThis show was presented in San Li Tun, the new trendy neighborhood in Beijing’s capital city, to celebrate the history of Maison Fendi, with the occasion of its first fashion show on the Great Wall.

Beijing, The Renewal of TimeThis event was an opening ceremony in Beijing to commemorate the Italian year, created and produced for the Italian Foreign Office and the Italian Environment Office, who were presenting to China the excellence of Italian Culture. This show was broadcast on CCTV to approximately one billion people.

Rome, 13th FINA World ChampionshipMore than 12,000 people witnessed the event. Among the guests were the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.

Rome, Summer GloryFor three consecutive years: 2007, 2008 and 2009, on the summer solstice over 80,000 people attended a celebration at the Piazza del Popolo sponsored by Acea. A range of theatrical devices including show machines, vertical dance, dance in flight, video and pyrotechnic effects engaged the public, arousing great collective excitement..

San Petersburg, The Dream of AssolIn the Winter Palace piazza along the Neva river, for the occasion of Scarlet Sails, Studio Festi delivered a traditional celebration of the solstice night for over one million people, who celebrated summer together until the morning hours. The show was broadcast live in all of Russia on Channel 5 to an audience of 100 million people.

Seongnam (Korea), Singapore, Dancing SkyThe show that debuted at the Adelaide Festival in 2006 continued to tour during the following years throughout the Far East, stopping at the Singapore Night Festival for the occasion of the new National Museum's inauguration, as well as at the Seongnam Art Festival.

Turin, From Renaissance to BaroqueWith the occasion of the opening of the 20th Winter Olympics in Torino, Valerio Festi produced a “fantastique,” a touching and unique opening night performance highlighting Italian culture and aesthetic, emblematic of the most fertile and creative period of the last millennium in Italy. The spectacle was the heart of the show that presented Italy to a worldwide audience of billions of viewers and is remembered today as a milestone of performance creativity, appealing to an international audience.

Varese, UCI Road World ChampionshipsStudio Festi produced the opening ceremony for the World Cycling Championships, which was held on the straight 400 meter road leading up to the race’s finishing line. The ceremony was comprised of twelve scenes that tied sport to Varese’s local traditions. RAI broadcasted the spectacular event.

Kobe (Japan), Architectures of lightTo commemorate the anniversary of Kobe’s 1995 earthquake, Studio Festi created recurring light installations in the city. The display honors the thousands of victims of the tragic earthquake and symbolizes hope. The installation has since become an integral part of Kobe’s culture and tradition and is viewed by six million people each year.

Paris, Robe de LumièreAfter Studio Festi’s first light installation in 2002 on the walls of Galleries Lafayette, these installations have become an integral part of Parisian Christmas, admired by millions of people each year. The 2008 installation was a fabulous and new variety of lighting display that utilized the latest computer technology.

Roma, The innauguration of the restored facade of the Basilica of San PietroIn the presence of Pope Giovanni Paolo II, the President of the Republic Carlo Azelio Ciampi and Prime Minister Massimo D'Alena, Valerio Festi and Maestro Myung-Whun Chung, conducting the orchestra of the Accademia of Santa Cecilia, have produced a spectacular concert for fireworks, celebrating the conclusion of the restouration works of the facade of the basilica with a baroque style celebration. |
